The Pacific Princess (The Love Boat)
 "Personal Choice Cruising Program"
Princess ships offer the line's innovative Personal Choice Cruising program, an individualized, unstructured style of cruising that provides a "what you want, when you want" atmosphere of onboard choice and flexibility designed to give passengers the opportunity to customize their cruise vacation to meet their personal interests, needs and desires. Princess introduced the concept of putting the passengers in control of their own cruise experience in the mid-1990s when it introduced the revolutionary Sun-class ships. This emphasis on choice -- of multiple dining locations, flexible entertainment and affordable private balconies -- has since established customized cruising as the touchstone of new ship design for the entire industry. Princess has also distinguished itself by sailing to more worldwide cruise destinations than any other major line. Offering more than 150 itineraries ranging from seven to 72 days, Princess sails to six continents and calls at nearly 260 ports around the world. Destinations include the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama Canal, Europe, Mexican Riviera, South America, South Pacific, Hawaii/Tahiti, Asia, Canada/New England, Bermuda and world voyages.
The company's now famous fleet includes Dawn Princess, Pacific Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess, Sun Princess, Grand Princess, Sea Princess, Ocean Princess, Golden Princess and Star Princess. Five additional new vessels will join Princess' fleet by 2004.
R3, a former Renaissance vessel was introduced to Princess' fleet on August 9, 2002 as Pacific Princess. Her sleek, modern design will provides a 'boutique version' of our Personal Choice Cruising program, with over two thirds of the ship's cabins having balconies and with a variety of dining and entertainment options to deliver on our trademark "big ship choice" in a smaller, more intimate cruise environment.
Pacific Princess will sail throughout French Polynesia and the wider Pacific region.

CRUISE NEWS 2/5/2003ISLAND PRINCESS DELIVERY POSTPONED Ship Will Debut with Gulf of Alaska Program in July Princess Cruises announces that the delivery of Island Princess has been postponed necessitating the cancellation of the vessel's first scheduled voyages. The inaugural cruise is now set for July 12, 2003, a Gulf of Alaska sailing between Vancouver and Seward. The first sail date was scheduled for May 31.
Affected departures include the May 13 Panama Canal transit voyage from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, a three-night coastal cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver, as well as six seven-day Gulf of Alaska cruises.
"While naturally we are disappointed with the delay, by working constructively with Chantiers to make a realistic assessment of the delivery date, we have been able to reach an early decision on the postponement," said Phil Kleweno president of Princess Cruises. "As a result we are in a position to minimize the disruption for our passengers and offer them accommodation on alternative Princess cruises."
Passengers booked to sail on the affected cruises will be offered a full refund, as well as credit toward alternate cruises in 2003 or 2004.
The 88,000-ton Island Princess is the sister to Princess' newest vessel, Coral Princess, the largest of the line's ships to be able to transit the Panama Canal. The 1,970 - passenger Island Princess will debut with a series of seven-day Gulf of Alaska voyages between Vancouver and Seward, moving to the Panama Canal in the fall. The ship features multiple dining and entertainment venues; plus more than 80 percent of cabins feature a private balcony -- a Princess hallmark.
Island Princess is being constructed at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France.
